Point of View Films is an independent production company which was started in 2015. We exist with the intention of producing high quality and entertaining screen content. All Point of View projects will have a positive social impact consideration. We are a company that believes in the power of story to shape how people understand the world, and how we interact with each other. Point of View takes story seriously (but never boringly).

Martin McKenna

Martin McKenna worked in television script departments and as a freelance writer for two decades. The more than one hundred ours of television drama that he has been involved with as either writer or script editor includes Packed to the Rafters, All Saints, Mercury, The Straits, Neighbours, Stingers, Something In the Air and Correlli.

Recently Martin wrote and directed his first feature; “Is This The Real World”. It was theatrically released in 2017. The film played in festivals throughout Europe, the USA and Asia. It was nominated (and sometimes won) awards for screenplay, direction, score and production. Film Ink magazine listed it as the top local release of the year. He is currently developing a number of feature projects.

Deb Barlow

Deborah Barlow has an Arts Degree, a Graduate Diploma in Communication, a Masters in Business and Arts Administration and a Law degree. In between all that studying she has worked in various jobs in the film and television industry in casting and production and as a human rights lawyer assisting asylum seekers in their quest for refugee status. She has worked as a director on various boards, and presently she is the Chair of a foundation that seeks equality of opportunity for all through education programs and access to law and justice. She produced ‘Is This The Real World’ in 2016. She believes that film, (both narrative and documentary) hold a unique position to be powerful agents for change. She is interested in developing projects that have a social impact at their core. She lives in St Kilda in Melbourne and has two adult children. She is very optimistic.

Alison Telford

Alison Telford enjoyed 25 years as the Casting Director for ABC TV and cast some of the national broadcasters most successful comedies and dramas including Please Like Me, Glitch, Seven Types of Ambiguity, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Seachange and Summer Heights High. Since leaving the ABC she has teamed up with Kate Leonard and their shingle Telford Leonard Casting hangs outside the Irish Linen House. Alison and Kate have recently worked on Seven Studio’s new drama Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, Molly and Cara for SBS, Get Krackin, Utopia for the ABC and feature films 2040 and Below.

Joining Debra and Martin at Point of View Films is bit of a highlight though.. now that says something.
