Walk Your Talk Productions NEWS

October 2006

  • Producer Dulanie Ellis, is now doing business as Walk Your Talk Productions. It seems that "Point of View Films" was such a good name that another firm was using it in Florida, who then moved to California. To avoid confusion in the marketplace, Dulanie's Point of View Films has morphed into Walk Your Talk Productions.

  • "Predatory Practices" opened the October, 2006 conference on "Understanding and Avoiding Real Estate Fraud" to a standing room only audience. It was then featured at both the California Association of REALTORS and the California Escrow Association's annual conferences. Initiated by the real estate industry and law enforcement, the film will be used nationally as a community education tool to raise awareness about the fastest rising white collar crime in America. The "Predatory Practices" DVD includes both English and Spanish languages.

  • "Good Stewards" was distributed in Vancouver, B.C., at the United States & Canadian conference, "Bridging Borders Towards Food Security." Delegates to the conference were advocating support for more local rural and urban agriculture for long-term food security.

March 2006

  • "Good Stewards" opened the Ventura County Summit on Sustainable Agriculture: "Building a Community of Good Stewards." Focusing on what consumers, farmers and policymakers can do to support a sustainable system of agriculture, the Summit brought together over 400 community leaders, citizens, politicians and grassroots activists. The film will be used as an educational tool by community groups to encourage positive action, as outlined in the film.

  • Since "Mi Casa Es Su Casa" premiered in 2004 at the Farm Worker Housing Summit, the film has been used by over 30 citizen action groups to build support for housing projects in several cities. To date, over 400 units of housing have either been built or are in the pipeline to be built. To obtain a free copy of the first annual report: House Farm Workers, and learn how the grassroots movement developed in so short a time, please contact: housefarmworkers@verizon.net.

  • In honor of Cesar Chavez Day, March 31, "Mi Casa Es Su Casa" is being screened in secondary schools and college campuses throughout Ventura County. POV Films is looking for schools throughout California who would be interested in purchasing a copy for their video library collection.

  • The spring issue of "Central Coast Farm & Ranch" is running a feature story on Dulanie Ellis (Walk Your Talk Productions) and Gail Pidduck (pastels artist), on how local women are bringing attention to agricultural issues through their art.
